Blog Assignment #15: Africa/Storytelling

Video 1
I really love the way Debo does her chores right before school and doesn't complain about it. She walks a long way with her friend to collect water from a well and walks all the way back with the heavy bucket for her family to have water. Every time I see something like this is touches my heart. Most of us would never do anything like this early in the morning without complaining. We barely get up just to be awake.

I found the way they get to school a little cool. I personally walk to and from school but it's nothing special. These girls get to see cows. Plus, they have a friend to walk with. I know I am more privileged than they are, since I get brought to school everyday when I could just walk. But honestly, I would like to see how it feels to be in their shoes.

Video 3
At the beginning of this video, I had to stifle a gasp. When Cheikh said he washes, and all he did was take some water out of a little pot and wash his face, it made me feel terrible. And again when he said he did the laundry and they were washing their clothes in a bucket. But I will always love the way they never complain when we always complain. We have so much to be grateful for, yet we think nothing of it.
