Marie Antoinette was born in Vienna, Austria, bound to her own beliefs to be queen. In 1770, her destiny was fulfilled when she married her prince of France, whom four years after, was crowned King. Marie decreased her staff and those of privileged positions during France's financial crisis. I found this to be reasonable, though France found otherwise. Marie and her husband Louis was subject to danger because of their personalities and by their decisions for their country.
I would personally think that Marie is important in history because of the way she was captured and later killed by accusation. She was captured during an invasion and was treated with immense cruelty. Her best friend was decapitated and her head was stuck on a pike. They marched around with her head in front of Marie. I do not understand how inhumane people can be, it's terrible and is why I'm partial to misanthropy. Not long after she was released from captivity, she was accused without proof. She was charged without any proof of being in cahoots with the enemy, allowing them to know their secrets. Marie then died on the guillotine, following her husband.
Some of Marie Antoinette's quotes are
"Courage! I have shown it for years; think you I shall lose it at the moment when my sufferings are to end?"
"I have seen all, I have heard all, I have forgotten all."
"There is nothing new except what has been forgotten."
“I was a queen, and you took away my crown; a wife, and you killed my husband; a mother, and you deprived me of my children. My blood alone remains: take it, but do not make me suffer long.”
And, best reenacted by Mrs.Alexander "Let them eat cake."
